Free Comic Book Day 2013

So last Saturday was Free Comic Book Day. It's an event that happens once every year on the first Saturday of May for those of you who don't already know. It's like Christmas for geeks I suppose. My family and I always look forward to this day and have been partaking for some years now. This year though I was invited to draw free sketches for the customers at Nostalgic Books and Comics. A very cool comic shop out in the San Gabriel Valley. It was my first time ever doing something like that and although I was a bit nervous at first I really enjoyed myself. It was a challenge since some of the requests for sketches were characters I wasn't used to drawing but I ended up having a blast drawing them and everyone was very nice. This was truly an awesome experience and I would love to do it again next year.

One of the free mini comics I gave away that day.

Comic of the week #3

Sorry folks for the delay. Hope you didn't miss me much. I'm back and hope to keep bringing you my strips each week even if it's really crappy. That's the whole point anyway, right? To be able to make a strip, get some practice, and learn from my mistakes. So thanks for stopping by and please feel free to leave a comment. See you soon! ^-^

Comic of the Week #2

Sorry it's a day late. I had originally done a four panel strip but felt that it worked well without the last panel. Hope you enjoy and sorry for the crappy pic. Please feel free to put in your two cents. Gotta keep drawing!!!!!!

Comic Factory Sunday! ^-^

Today I took my daughter and wife to the Comic Factory in Pasadena. I love watching my daughter light up when she discovers the comic she wants. She couldn't decide whether to get Archie or The Powerpuff Girls. She chose the latter.

She was really digging it. The guy working at the shop was really nice and gave her two free comics. One was Spider-Man and the other was Fantastic Four she liked Spider-Man best.

My wife pretty much grabbed everything they had on 'Doctor Who' and I bought myself 'Amor Y Cohetes'. I'll be posting some new sketches and other stuff soon. Peace!
